I am definitely a dress up kind of gal. I am of the mentality that I would rather be overdressed than under dressed. So going to a day time affair isn’t any different. I cringe when I see for example someone in jeans at a wedding. Unless its specifically stated it’s a casual event. Just because it occurs in the day does not mean it’s automatically casual. So I am hoping this outfit will inspire you or give you ideas of how you can dress up during the day!
The main piece; The fabulous dress!
You want the dress to be more than a sundress but not as much as a cocktail dress. You want to wear light and bright, rich colors. Be mindful of seasons of course. Since it is fall you want to stay away from pastels. Leave the darker colors for night time such as black, dark browns, purple, blueS etc. Look at the details. The lace and neckline are what gives this dress a dressed up appearance. The dress photographed I have had for months in which I obtained from Kohl’s but I found a similar one here.
The fabulous heels!
Nothing says dressed up more than a fun, flirty heel. But daytime is the one pass you get to wear flats for as long as they are dressy. If you must wear sandals, ensure they are a strappy sandal. No slip ons! Preferably wear a closed toe flat with an embellishment on top. Of course my recommendation will be to wear a heel. If comfort if what you seek, wear a wedge. Wedges are meant for daytime for sure! If you’re like me however you will gravitate to a platform and 4″, strappy heel like the one photographed. Peep toe is also ideal for daytime and the lace continues to dress it up. I am wearing Jennifer Lopez no longer for sale but I found similar Jessica Simpson here.
The statement clutch.
Since I am a matchy matchy kind of gal, the clutch is where I play with color. Again for daytime you want light colors. This is your pop up color. The one photographed is Vera Wang, and I found a similar one for you here.
Last but not least my beautifulĀ Bela Bracelets!
My hands down most practical, multifunctional accessory. I am constantly putting my hair up since having my son. But on the weekends I love to do my hair and wear it down so I would wear my hair ties around my wrist. This is until I found my belabracelets. They are bracelets that hold your hair tie! How ingenious is that! You can check them out here.
I hope you are the most stylish gal at your daytime affair.
Love,
Angelica
