How to spice up everyday dinners with Dona Maria

Rolled Taquitos with Dona Maria Mole

As a mom to a very active toddler, making delicious meals for my family in a timely manner is what I strive for. My wife comes home hungry, and my son is racing the time before it’s time for bed (he’s an early bird.) So today I will share with you how DOÑA MARÍA® Mole saves my dinners regularly and efficiently.

Rolled Taquitos en mole

Ingredients (Serves 2)

1 DOÑA MARÍA® Mole

Half a cup of extra virgin olive oil

8 tortillas

Half a cup of shredded cooked chicken

1/4 cup of Monterrey jack cheese

1 tomato diced

1/4 lettuce chopped

Media crema to taste

1 lime

8 toothpicks

Step by step instructions

1. Warm up the tortillas in the microwave for 1 minute, 30 seconds.

2. Warm up oil in a deep-frying pan to medium heat.

3. Insert chicken in a tortilla then roll it up. Push a toothpick through the center to hold it together.

4. Insert in warm frying pan.

5. Repeat the same for the next 7 taquitos. If you’re having a hard time rolling the tortilla, warm it up a little bit longer. It should feel a little sticky however it makes it easier to mold.

5. Once the taquitos are golden, brown removes and place in a plate on top og a clean paper towel to allow the excess oil to drain.

6. Arrange 4 taquitos in a plate and pour cooked Dona Mole over the top until covered.

7. Add media creme as desired.

8. Add diced tomatoes on top.

9. Add chopped lettuce on top.

10. Add cheese on top.

11. Splash a little bit of lime and you’re ready to serve!
