I am definitely a dress up kind of gal. I am of the mentality that I would rather be overdressed than under dressed. So going to a day time affair isn’t any different. I cringe when I see for example someone in jeans at a wedding. Unless its specifically stated it’s a casual event. Just because it occurs in the day does not mean it’s automatically casual. So I am hoping this outfit will inspire you or give you ideas of how you can dress up during the day!

The main piece; The fabulous dress!

You want the dress to be more than a sundress but not as much as a cocktail dress. You want to wear light and bright, rich colors. Be mindful of seasons of course. Since it is fall you want to stay away from pastels. Leave the darker colors for night time such as black, dark browns, purple, blueS etc. Look at the details. The lace and neckline are what gives this dress a dressed up appearance. The dress photographed I have had for months in which I obtained from Kohl’s but I found a similar one here.

The fabulous heels!

Nothing says dressed up more than a fun, flirty heel. But daytime is the one pass you get to wear flats for as long as they are dressy. If you must wear sandals, ensure they are a strappy sandal. No slip ons! Preferably wear a closed toe flat with an embellishment on top. Of course my recommendation will be to wear a heel. If comfort if what you seek, wear a wedge. Wedges are meant for daytime for sure! If you’re like me however you will gravitate to a platform and 4″, strappy heel like the one photographed. Peep toe is also ideal for daytime and the lace continues to dress it up. I am wearing Jennifer Lopez no longer for sale but I found similar Jessica Simpson here.

The statement clutch.

Since I am a matchy matchy kind of gal, the clutch is where I play with color. Again for daytime you want light colors. This is your pop up color. The one photographed is Vera Wang, and I found a similar one for you here.

Last but not least my beautiful Bela Bracelets!

My hands down most practical, multifunctional accessory. I am constantly putting my hair up since having my son. But on the weekends I love to do my hair and wear it down so I would wear my hair ties around my wrist. This is until I found my belabracelets. They are bracelets that hold your hair tie! How ingenious is that! You can check them out here.

I hope you are the most stylish gal at your daytime affair.

Angelica

My most loved season of the year is here and with it comes stylish, warm clothes. This is also the majority of my closet why? Because I am a huge black Friday enthusiast! Every year for months ahead save as much as possible to drop it all on one day. Actually for like three hours, lol. But the point is majority of my clothes are fall and winter!

I am in Arizona so layering is very important. It can go from very cool to very hot quickly. It is why I am in love with today’s outfit. Let’s get started shall we!

The V Neck sweater blouse

This blouse is a soft, blush pink that from a far appears a nude color. It has a feminine touch with lace adorning the colar. The sleeve is loose to enhance comfort. You can achieve the same look with this one.

Lightweight faux fur vest

Not only will you add elegance with this vest, but you will also be kept warm! It’s also casual enough to wear during the day. It’s very soft faux leather and faux fur! It has very convenient pockets as well as a long length. You can find the Happy Glamper Vest here.

The Classic Skinny jean

From day time shopping to evening dinner date. These stretchy, distressed jeans is a must to complete your outfit. They are so comfortable, I could sleep on them! You can find the Kenzie jean here.

Blush Pink Pumps

I must admit and call me old-fashioned but I am a match kind of gal. Yes in fashion you often have to take risks however there is still something to be said about matching with your heels. And let me tell y’all I LOVE my heels. I’ll be 100% honest and tell you these are more for date night dinner than shopping, lol. They are comfortable but not enough to walk around all day. The ones I am wearing are Vera Wang but you can achieve the same look with these super cute and affordable Lauren Conrads.

5 Tips to Style a Black Tee

Almost like a classic little black dress is a black tee. I must confess that I was never a T-Shirt kind of gal. I didn’t used to think they were very feminine. Well that’s because I hadn’t found one like the one from Be Still Clothing Company. Not only are their tees inspirational but they’re shape flattering and soft for a tee! So here are my tips to style one.

1. Go all black

All black is elegant and timeless when you do it correctly. In the picture I wore a black jacket and black booties. You obviously want to have a different hint of color and that is what the white letters in the tee provide.

2. Add leather goods.

I try to wear faux leather when I can. Sometimes I can’t avoid it. I am trying to get better at this I promise. The jacket photographed is not real leather thankfully. If you’re trying to achieve the all black look it’s a great way to go however you can go a route of color depending on the season and what other color the tee has.

3. Spice it up with leopard.

Leopard can be sexy. It’s feminine, flirty and fun. Nothing vanilla about leopard. The trick to not borderline into tacky (trust it, it happens) is to not over do it. Choice one garment or two tops! Whether it’s a scarf or the shoes, it can really make your black tee pop.

4. Wear a rich colored handbag.

Think metallics and deep colors. Be mindful of the seasons of course and pastel is not your friend here. And of course don’t mix the colorful handbag with leopard! Lol

5. Wear a killer lip color.

This one can really go without saying and honesty should be a staple in all of your outfits but it certainly can make a difference in styling a black tee. In the picture I chose a darker shade since it is autumn now.
